Loi Krathong is one of the most awaited Thai Holiday in a Thai Calendar. It is exciting, people rush to go home to be with their families just like Christmas. A Krathong is float with banana leaves, flowers, other decorations, and a candle on the top. The float might be made of bread, coconut husk, banana trunk, or anything biodegradable. One buys from a peddler or makes for himself, then say some prayers at the temple or give to the poor and then float the Krathong on a body of water near a temple. The Klong (a body of water that might be a river or a canal) or lake during this occasion is filled of floating candles and they are fantastic to look at.
